Oh, I’m sorry. You haven’t met my friend @BLOCKHEAD?
(Oh, it’s ok. Don’t mind the helmet. It’s his thing. We’re all just trying to be supportive of it. He does this thing where he rides around on his motorcycle and talks to people (himself), records it and everyone seems to love it.)
Anywahs, he joined Standard and we got to know one another and while I only thought I had the pleasure of helping him with a custom Dyna build he was looking to complete. I had the doubly-rad pleasure to also be invited to go for ride with him.
When it comes to music, I can honestly say I didn't use to have a leg to stand on when I talked about it. And while there is a story to be told about my introduction to what I call "really hearing the music, " that's one for another time.
What I will say is this. I love Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. You know what I love more though?
WHEN BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB COMES TO ORLANDO.
I've had the opportunity to do some pretty rad things. Shoot a TV show with Norman Reedus riding motorcycles to some of the most amazing destinations in the US, wreck a brand new BMW RNineT on a Press Launch, chase Mark Wilsmore of Ace Cafe London at 115mph to Brighton Beach, even visited Jay's garage, once.
The Grand Opening of Dainese's new flagship store, located on the grounds of Ace Cafe Orlando was a huge a success! Last Thursday night local Ace Cafe patrons and hundreds of Dainese fans joined together for a great afternoon and evening of speed themed motorcycle fun!
Highlights from the event were a massive showing of local Flat track race bikes from members of the Southern Dirt Track Association. Bikes ranging from DTX style dirt racers to vintage framers to full on custom racers we're out front and center boasting their ability to turn left, fast!
A mecca for all things creative and cool, combing everything ranging from a Surf contest, to live tunes by Unwritten Law, Black Uhuru, Wargirl and LIT, amazing food, good drinks, a custom motorcycle and art show, appearances by Jessie Combs and other local builders, racers and riders and of course, the RSD x Indian Motorcycles Super Hooligan National Championship race where Andy Dibrino took the win and the keys to a brand new FTR Race Bike!
Speaking of which! Dainese (Orlando, FL) is having their Grand Opening on November 19th. Indian Motorcycle's American Flat Track number one plate holder Jared Mees will be onsite signing autographs, there's going to be a Flat Track bike show, tons of giveaways (I'm talking nice stuff, helmets, jackets, memberships to Standard Motorcycle Co.) even Johnny Lewis from 10 Training is going to be onsite talking to folks about the ropes of flat track.
Mark your calendars and share this one, it's gonna be a good time!
